To Our Knowledge this system has been deployed so far only by the organisation for whose needs it was built. This organisation provides shelter expertise in disaster situations and in the sector generally. You can go there, but you would never know it was three wikis, and there's no way into the editing area for the public, although next to the websites they are running wikis for each of several projects.

With commercial software, you buy a licence but you have no right to try to change the code because it still belongs to the company that wrote it. All the code to make this system is freely available. That means anyone who can tackle php is welcome to use this code as a starting point for their own projects. It also means that you are not dependent on one mortal programmer, nobody can hold you to ransom, and you can get changes and customisations done yourself. Just as long as you acknowledge who wrote it in the first place!
